An Event-Driven Architecture for Genomics-Based Diagnostic Data Processing

Genomics-based diagnostic data (GBDD) are becoming increasingly important for laboratory diagnostics. Due to the large quantity of and their heterogeneity, GBDD poses a big challenge. Current analysis tools primarily designed research do not meet requirements diagnostics automation, reliability, transparency, reproducibility, robustness, accessibility. This makes it difficult laboratories use these in tests that need be validated according regulatory frameworks execute time- cost-efficient manner. In order better address requirements, we propose an event-driven workflow-based architecture as basis processing platform is highly scalable using container technologies microservices. A prototype implementation this approach, called GenomicInsights, has been developed evaluated demonstrate its feasibility suitability
